The PG & Research Department of Commerce organized an International Conference on ‘HR Practices in the 21st Century’ on 14.08.2024 at Allama Iqbal Auditorium. The Inaugural Session of the Conference commenced with the Invocation by Mr. P. Asrar Ahmed, Ph.D. Research Scholar, which was followed by Tamizh Thai Vazhthu. Dr. V. Valeeullah, Associate Professor of Commerce, welcomed the gathering and gave brief introduction about the conference.
Dr. T. Afsar Basha, Principal & HOD of Commerce, in his inaugural address he enlightened the HR practices of 21st Century and emphasized its significance and also told few success stories of firms.
During the Technical Session I, Dr. M.A. Fayaz Ahamed, Associate Professor College of Economics and Business Administration, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ibri, Sultanate of Oman, delivered key-note address and highlighted the Employability Skills required to work in Gulf Countries in different sectors like IT, Hospitality, Digital Marketing, Health Care, Renewable Energy, AI and ML Specialist etc.
Dr. Chinniah Anbalagan, Professor & Research Advisor, College of Business & Economics, Samara University, Afar State, Ethiopia, East Africa, addressed the audience during the Technical Session II in which he explained the concept of HR, ethical and unethical practices in HR, latest trends in HR and impact of AI in HR.
Dr. T. Thirupathi, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Commerce, Government Arts College (Autonomous), Salem, chaired the Technical Session-III. Research Scholars of our Department and neighbouring Colleges presented papers on different topics,
During the Valedictory Session, Dr. T. Afsar Basha, Principal & HOD of Commerce and Dr. T. Tirupathi, Resource Person, Technical Session III, distributed the Certificates to the Participants. The programme received overwhelming response with more than 550 participants, which include Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students from our College and neighbouring Colleges.
