National Service Scheme 2023-2024
1. INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING- AWARENESS PROGRAM - 26.06.2023
NSS Units of ISLAMIAH COLLEGE (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, VANIYAMBADI TOWN POLICE and JOLARET RAILWAY POLICE organised an awareness programme on “INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING” to prevent drug abuse and create awareness about the effects and loss due to Drugs.
This awareness procession went through Newton Road to Vaniyambadi by pass bus stop, created awareness about Drug abuse and loss due to Drugs, by raising Slogans and Distributing the pamphlets to the passengers and publics. And then the rally passed through Vaniyambadi Municipality office and reached Vaniyambadi Railway Station.
Nearly 300 NSS Volunteers and NSS officers, assistants and teaching staff, Vaniyambadi Town Police Station Inspector Mr. Nagaraj and other police staff, Jolarpet railway police, inspector A. Elavarasi and other railway police, press reporters and train passengers were assembled in the platform of Vaniyambadi railway station.
And then the gathering moved to Vaniyambadi main bus stand, NSS programme officers Town Police Station Inspector, police staff and Zonal Medical officer distributed leaflets to Auto Drivers, bus drivers and publics in bus stand.
2. MERI MATTI, MERA DESH 11.07 .2023
NSS unit of Islamiah College (Autonomous) Vaniyambadi Organised an orientation Programme and Preparatory event on 11th July 2023. It conducted the orientation Programme on MERI MATTI, MERA DESH.MORE than 50 volunteers participated in orientation Programme. and our N.S.S. coordinator Dr. M. Mujibur Rahman, Assistant Professor of Tamil addressed the gathering, N.S.S. coordinators Dr. J. Mohemed Ali, Associate Professor of Physics, and Dr. G. Harigaran Assistant Professor of History also present in the programme.
NSS unit of Islamiah College (Autonomous) Vaniyambadi organized a Tree plantation programme on 11th July 2023 in the ground adjacent to compound in our Islamiah College campus. Our NSS Volunteers, Programme Officer Dr. J.MohemedAli, Dr. M. MujiburRahman and Dr. G. Harigaran planted the sapling of Tree.
3. BONE AND JOINT WEEK AWARENESS PROGRAMME 03-08-2023
The BONE AND JOINT WEEK CELEBERATION Programme was organized by the NSS Unit of our college joined hands with the DAVID MULTISPECIALLITY HOSPITAL, VANIYAMBADI Tirupattur District on 03stAugust, 2023 at our Auditorium. Dr. T.Afser basha, vice principal welcomed the gathering. Dr. T. Mohamed Ilyas, Principal, Islamiah College given a presidential address to the gathering and enlightened the students about their duties to follow the Traffic regulations, he explained the current accident happened for crawling baby with switched on charger, and responsibility of parents. Dr.R. Serinivasan associate professor of mathematics introduced the chief guest :Dr.David Vimal Kumar, MS, Ortho (Gold Medalist),his beloved wife Dr.Nity Rose David, MS (Ortho) ,and his Team members Dr.Dinesh, MD, Anoshni ,Dr.Philomina, MIS.
The chief guest :Dr.David Vimal Kumar, Dr.Nity Rose David, MS (Ortho) were honored by our principal.
The chief guest:Dr.David Vimal Kumar educated the gatherings about the road accidents&reasons for accidents through digital road safety related video clips, speaks about the consequences of the accidents with current examples and also through the video clips of real accidents. Mainly he explained the BLS- basic life-support first aid procedures with the help of his team members and he involved our NSS volunteers in the demonstration.
He gave BLS HANDS ON TRAINING to our NSS volunteers and students attended in the programme.
Dr.Nity Rose David also delivered the address and cleared the doubts raised by NSS Volunteers, students.
All our NSS Volunteers, students and office bearers of the programme, his team members were taking pledges EACH ONE- TRAIN ONE -SAVE ONE along with the chief guest: Dr. David Vimal Kumar to follow the basic lifesaving procedure.
4. NSS DAY 25-09-2023
NSS Day was celebrated in a grand manner on 25th September, 2023 in our seminar hall with the cluster of events like palm sapling, tree plantation, orientation programme, issuing of 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 special camp certificate to the NSS Volunteers, Abdul Kalam trust saplings donation and Tree Plantation.
Tree Plantation programme have organised as part of the NSS Day celebration, Our our beloved Principal, Dr. T. Mohamed Ilyas, . Social worker Islamiah college Mr. Syed nizar , resource person Dr. U. Ramesh, President of Abdul Kalam Kamarajar trust Vijay Anand, Chief Guest Dr. S. Pasupathi, Mr.P .Vijaya Kumar,.DSP have jointly planted the saplings and palm saplings near principle office, under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Dr. J. Mohemed Ali, Dr. M. Mujeeburrahman, NSS Programme Officer.
The resource person Dr. U. Ramesh,,Assistant Professor of Economics ,NSS Programme Oficer, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur and Alumni- of Islamiah college delivered a special discourse on the topic “ROLE OF YOUTH IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY” to our Volunteers and, he insisted that the student’s community should come forward to develop their personality through social service and he shared his own biography and his experience.
President of Abdul Kalam Kamarajar trust Vijay Anand donated 100 saplings and involved in Tree Plantation. He explained the importance of trees and he shared his experience on tree plantation and also he recorded that he grown more than 1300 trees in and around Tamil Nadu so far.
Chief Guest Dr. S. Pasupathi, Physician, Block Medical officer ,community Health Centre , Alangayam, Vaniyambadi, interacted with volunteers and created awareness about and keeping good health.
Chief Guest Mr. P .Vijaya Kumar, DSP ,Vaniyambadi, Sub Division, Tirupattur District, delivered a special address to volunteers he explained the importance of discipline and effects of criminal law and role of youths in society, He also advised to read news papers, essentials of playing in sunlight, importance of awakening in early morning.
K Sanjay kumar, volunteer ,department of History was honored by the chief guests and college for his best and sincere service for the past three years in NSS. More than 300 volunteers and other college students were participated in this orientation programme and NSS day celebrations.
5. SAWACHATA HI SEVA 01.10.2023
On behalf of volunteers of National Service Scheme of Islamic College (Autonomous)Vaniyambadi "Swachhata Hi Seva" work was carried out in Thumberi village, under Thumberi Panchayat. They cleaned drinking water tanks in government offices, primary health centers and planted 200 saplings in various places under the panchayat to create awareness among the villagers about the need for cleanliness.
This work was initiated by Mrs. P. Sangeeta Palani, Panchayat President Thumberi Panchayat , 50 National Service Scheme volunteers, three National Service Scheme Coordinators, Panchayat Council members, Government officials, and various people participated in the work.
6. One Crore Palm Tree Plantation Programme 01.10.2023
As per the guidelines of Tamil Nadu Director of Collegiate Higher Education Department, the Tamilnadu Palm Tree Plantation Welfare Board ,The Tamil Nadu State National Service Scheme and Green Neeta Ecosystem jointly launched a plan to plant one crore palm seeds along the 1076 km stretch from Chennai to Kanyakumari on October 1. Based on that, they had announced a plan to plant palm seeds with the volunteers of the National Service Scheme in the respective areas at the lake shores, Kanmais, creeks, ponds, etc. in the inner districts.
Based on that, the principal of the college, Dr.T. MOHAMMED ILYAS to the guidance , our college National Service Scheme volunteers in collaboration with ThumberiPanchay at under Natrampalli union, collected one thousand (1000) palm seeds in Kamar Kuttai area and the adjacent lake bank.
7. "AMRIT KALASH YATRA - PANCH PRAN PLEDGE"
Islamiah college NSS unit organised this Amrit Kalash Yatra under the 'Meri Maati-MeraDesh' campaign with the active participation of our college NSS volunteers, faculty and students. The 'Meri MaatiMeraDesh' program aims to emotionally connect every individual, family, and citizen with the idea of creating a great India. The 'Panch Pran' pledge, is a part of these efforts. NSS programme officer,coordinator,assistants,faculty and students taken 'Panch Pran' pledge, near herbal garden of our college at 11.29 am.
8. "AMRIT KALASH YATRA - MITTI COLLECTION"
This is with reference to UGC's even letter dated 27th July, 2023 ,letter from Directorate Of collegiate Education and Tamil Nadu Cell ,wherein UGC had requested all Higher Education institutions to ensure the success of the "Meri MaatiMeraDesh" Campaign, by taking active participation in the said Campaign. The "Meri MaatiMeraDesh" campaign is set to culminate in August, aiming to pay tribute to our beloved 'Motherland' and the courageous 'Veers' who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation. In this connection Our college NSS programme officers and NSS volunteers placed soil from these Amrit Kalash pot paying homage to India's brave heroes.
9. "AMRIT KALASH YATRA - SAPLING PLANTATION"
The, tree plantation, is a part of Amrit Kalash Yatra under the 'Meri Maati-MeraDesh' campaign. As per the instructions of letter from Directorate Of collegiate Education and Tamil Nadu Cell 75 saplings of indigenous plants were collected and planted.
Our Tirupattur District Collector Mr. Baskara Pandyan, IAS, planted the sapling in our college,Our college NSS programme officers and NSS volunteers, vice principal head of the department of Tamil, faculties from various departments were also present in the tree plantation programme.
10. Youth survey 25.11.2023
Youth survey programme was conducted on 25.11.2023 in all adopted villagesThe NSS Volunteers of Islamiah College (Autonomous) started youth survey. They are divided in to three groups and each group taken 100 survey in each village allotted to them for three days .after collecting the data from Youth survey form ,the 300 filled Youth survey form was analyzed and submitted to the NSS coordinator Thiruvalluvar university.
