A One Day Industrial Visit was organized by Department of Biotechnology. A total of 56 students from II B.Sc. and II M.Sc. Biotechnology visited Sankar Biotech, a Plant Tissue Culture Industry located at Hosur on 24th August 2023. Dr. M. A. Farook, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology was the co-ordinator of the visit. Mr. M. Mohammed Zeeshan, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology and Mr. P. Md. Ayaz, Lab Attender were also accompanied.
Dr. Sivalingam Elayabalan, the Technical Director/Agriculture Scientist at Sankar Bio-Tech gave an elaborate special lecture on PTC in ppt. He gave complete knowledge and live experience on Plant Tissue Culture Technique, Media preparation, Contamination checking, Aseptic transfer of various explants, important cultivable species and its marketing need, exporting of plant saplings, recent developments in Plant tissue culture.
