INFLIBNET, Ahmadabad. It discusses the vidwan portal membership institutions in Muslim Management Arts
and Science colleges of Tamil Nadu. It also highlights the benefits of VIDWAN membership. Objective- of the
study is to know the total No of colleges enrolled as members, and no of subject experts available in this
college.

Libraries and information centres play a vital role in information dissemination
service to their clients. Due to information and communication technology (ICT)
librarians have to adopt new technology for information dissemination to students,
research scholars and faculty. This paper highlights the features of MOOCs
Courses, NPTEL,Vidya Mitra, e-Pg Pathshala e-content portal from Inflibnet
and National Digital Library. Now a days, the Ministry of Human Resources
Development, Government of Indian has concentrating on higher education and
development. According to their initiatives SWAYAM MOOCs and SWAYAM
PRABHA, NPTEL and NDL plays vast role in teaching and learning environment
in higher education and in this article explains the about the programmes. This
paper also highlights the requirement of infrastructure facility and benefits of these
programmes.

There are many subscribed resources and open source resources utilized by the Students, Research Scholars and Faculty Members in higher educational institutions. Objective –of this study is to determine the Digital resources usage preferences in Arts & Science college libraries of Tamil Nadu, particularly Islamic Management Arts & Science colleges. This article also examines the usage of e-books, e-journals (both subscribed and open source), Library website and abstracting database. It also deals with the status of the colleges which are subscribing to the digital resources. Research methodology. A systematically designed questionnaire was distributed to the selected colleges and received the data for analysis. Quite a few interesting facts have come out. Findings -Accordingly the data reveals that the undergraduate and postgraduate users preferred opens access resources and Google as their search engine for quick access while on the other hand research scholars insisted that commercial resources are of help and have made a recommendation to increase them. In case of faculty they recommend more number of commercial resources for their study, research and teaching purpose. Suggestions were made by the users to improve the infrastructure facility, regular power connection and a speed increase in the high bandwidth internet connections and to conduct seminars/ workshops/ orientation to the users in order to create awareness to increase the both the category of digital resources.

This paper study to determine the availability of INFLIBNET Nlist resources in Islamic Management Arts and Science college libraries of Tamil Nadu. Objectiveof the study is to inspect the usage, awareness and level of satisfaction of N List resources in Libraries. Methodology-adopted to indentify the Islamic Management Arts & Science colleges in Tamil Nadu. A systematic Questionnaire has prepared and distributed to selected colleges of TamilNadu. Total 1000 questionnaires were distributed among them 864 were received back and taken into account for analysis. SPSS Software version2.0 applied for analysis of data. Findings of the study reveals that 90% of thecolleges were subscribing INFLIBNET NList resources and users are very well known about the INFLIBNET resources, incase of level of usage 112 respondents that is 15.5% accessing the NList resources.Suggestionswere given to conduct proper orientation, user awarenessabout the Nlist resources and regular internet connection and high bandwidth network facilityto be provided.Keywords: INFLIBNET N-list, Electronic resources,Islamic Management colleges

They are playing as boosting agency for the Higher Education and Research.
According to that it is mandatory for every academic institution to satisfy
Certain Rules and regulations of the University Grants Commission , AICTE,
State Government and Concerned University in order to establish and provide
proper Infrastructure facility for the Library users. This article has designed
in order to find out the Infrastructure and services provided by the Islamic
Management Engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. This study was conducted
with a help of detailed questionnaire prepared and distributed to all Engineering
colleges especially Muslim Management Institutions. There were two types of
questionnaires were distributed one for the users. All the Responses are collected
back for the data analysis. Then it was analyzed with respect to the purpose of the
study. According to the study infrastructure facility to be increased in certain level.

only brought scientific revolution, but also established a new method in research
which in many ways was in direct contradiction to the ancient philosophical
method. Though this method, slowly but surely, a body of knowledge has been

Employment problem plays a pie vital role in India. Now a days Higher educational institutions concentrating on students career Opportunities and conducting campus recruitment drives to provide employment at the end of course. Purpose of this paper deals with the availability Career Guidance resources and Services providing institutions in Arts and science colleges affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. Objective - of the paper is to know the status of the college libraries and information centre’s, their services and availability of Career Guidance books, periodicals, financial sources and other infrastructure facilities. Methodology - systematic questionnaire has prepared and distributed to selected Arts and science colleges for data collection. Data analysis - after collecting the data were sorted out and fed into the computer excell for analysis. Findings and suggestions- it is observed from the study that increase more collection of career guidance resources in most of the Government colleges and Self financing institutions, create awareness programmes, utilize social media for updating of employment opportunities among the students and Infrastructure facility to be increased.

This paper is a sur vey of best practices and ser vices followed in the Ar ts and Science colleges affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Tamil Nadu. Through obser vations and inter view method data was elicited from ten colleges. The main objective of the study is 1) to explore the various best practices followed in the college libraries 2) examine the availability of electronic resources 3) availability of publications and facilities 4) various librar y programs 5) financial sources 6) ser vices extended to external users. The findings show that Islamiah College,Vaniambadi secured the highest score in electronic resources and services.
INFLIBNET and Internet facility are present in all the colleges. Only three college libraries are conducting all librar y programs. Competition programs are conducted by all colleges. Only two colleges are providing ser vice to external users. Suggestions to improve the infrastructure and college librar y ser vices
provided.

This Paper describes about the Swayam Prabha a Channel for Higher Education. It deals with 32 Higher Education channel and provides different subject communities through satellite. It also highlights the features and advantages of Swayam Prabha . This paper also explains the teaching & learning mode, channels availability, subject coverage, education providers, beneficiaries, different types of learning, equipments required to establish the channel and Space and time requirements. The video lectures cover from 9th standard to Postgraduate level. The main objective of the paper is to create awareness among the higher educational institutions so that the programme will reach nook and corner of the country and serve its purpose.

This paper describes the usage of digital resources among the Research scholars in the Muslim management Arts and Science college libraries of Tamil Nadu. It highlights the impact of Digital resources on their research activity. This paper highlights Muslim minority colleges in Tamil Nadu and among them selected college libraries taken in to account for analysis. SPSS system have applied for the research analysis, in order to find out No of research scholars participated and response about the different types of digital resources. This paper also highlight the commercial resources and open access resources available in the institutions. This article also indicate the total no of respondents using the digital resources. Findings of the study reveals that most of the research scholars prefers Open Access Resources viz.Google, Shodhganga is the most widely used search engine for locating information electronically and on the other hand Proquest Journals database.

Digital Resources Usage and Services in the Engineering College Libraries of Tamil Nadu: With Special reference to Islamic Management Colleges

Information Communication Technology (ICT) has brought in a revolution and transformed the way libraries perform. Day by day ICT is occupying an indispensable and significant role in the Libraries. These days’ digitalization and libraries are like hand in gloves and are ready to cater to the needs of entire universe. Likewise information seeking behavior of academicians, educationists, teachers, research scholars, students and others has completely undergone a remarkable change. Each one wants information within seconds – fast and accurate. The Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development has taken initiatives to streamline this information thrust and knowledge explosion through National Digital Library. Ministry of Human Resource Development under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology has initiated the National Digital Library (NDL) pilot project to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find out the right resource with least effort and in minimum possible time. NDL is designed to hold contents of any language and provide interface support for leading vernacular languages (currently Hindi and Bengali). It is being arranged to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, in all disciplines, in all popular forms of access devices and also to differently-abled learners. It is being developed to help students to prepare for entrance and competitive examinations, to enable people learn and gain knowledge from the best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. This project will also enable some key national knowledge discovery and immersive learning platforms built around this Digital Library. It will also encourage entrepreneurial development of tools around this platform. In its final contour the system may serve as a pan-India virtual teaching-learning-evaluation-knowledge discovery and innovation platform, a key national asset. The pilot project is devising a framework suitable for future scale up with respect to content volume and diversity to become a full-blown National Digital Library of India over time.

This article describes the Digital Preservation of documents of documents and electronic resources and their features. It also highlights the preservation method, procedure and type of documents to be preserved. Online resources preservation techniques,
Software required, problems and challenges are also discussed in this article. Some of the documents not easily available called rare documents are to be digitalized and Digital resources ie electronic resources CD-Rooms and DVDs are also to be digitalized, these concepts are discussed in this paper. This article also highlight the advantages and importance of digital preservation.

Due to rapid development of Information Communication and Technology (ICT),
Libraries are changing their services accordingly. Librarians are heroes of the Information
resource centres, that they are adopting new technological developments for their libraries. The
Union Government has taken initiatives for digital India, programmes for e-governing service,
make in India etc. Information Library Network (INFLIBNET) is one of the major role playing
autonomous body in UGC, which is providing e-content development, preservation and
disseminating service to their clients in Indian Institutional libraries. In these scenario librarians
plays vital role that they have to take initiatives in this regard. This paper describes the creation
of digital content, preservation and distribution through online mode by installing the DSpace,
an open Source Software, and also explains the features, metadata creation, management of
software and advantages of DSpace. Time saving is one of the essential factors for digitalization
of libraries. Library and Information centres have to distribute the right information quickly to
the right users, at the right time. Suggestions were given that the management of concerned
educational institutions or Library Professionals should take initiative for the sake of students,
research scholars and faculty according to their financial position and also suggested that they
may apply to funding agencies for financial assistance.

This paper aims to determine the usage and services of digital resources in the Islamic (Muslim) Management Arts and science college libraries of Tamil Nadu. A systematic Questionnaire was prepared and sent to the Arts & Science Colleges, in order to identify and analyze the category of resources available, types of users, usage awareness, ICT infrastructure of the libraries. According to the study most of the Research scholars & faculty members are utilizing the digital resources. The study also reveals that equipments in the concerned college computer lab/digital libraries have considerably increased. Overall opinion of the study is that the users are highly satisfied with the digital resources, particularly Research Scholars.
